The North Texas State Fair and Rodeo Parade will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010. This year’s Parade Marshal is country western singing star, Moe Bandy!
The North Texas State Fair and Rodeo Parade will award cash prizes for the winners! Cash prizes will be awarded for first ($100) and second ($50) places in five categories: Riding Club, Commercial, Youth, Western Wagon, and Classic Car. Additionally, one place will be awarded for Best Overall ($250).
Line up for the parade will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the parade starting at 10:00 a.m. The first come – first served starting line up will be at Denton High School, 1007 Fulton Street, Denton. (Directions: From I-35 E, take the University Dr./380 exit. Go east on University. At the 3rd stop light, turn right on Fulton. Denton High School is about 3 blocks down on your right or call the NTSF Office at 940-387-2632) For parking, turn right at first stop light onto Crescent and there are parking lots on both sides of the street.
The route for the parade will be as follows: Leave from Denton High School and go east on Crescent, south on Carroll, east on Parkway to Elm. Turn right or south on Elm and circle the downtown square, north on Locust to Congress, west on Congress to Carroll, north on Carroll to Crescent, west on Crescent to Denton High School.
Anyone may enter a float or trailer in the parade and there is no charge or sign up required. Just show up Saturday morning, August 22, and be a part of the great North Texas State Fair parade! Bicycles, riding clubs, car clubs, VFW’s, organizations - all are welcome! Come join the fun!
