The Cooking/Baking Contest presents an annual exhibition of breads, cakes, candy, cookies and pies prepared and exhibited by local amateur bakers. With 52 adult classes and 48 youth classes, everything from cornbread to fudge is accepted and judged to determine grand champions during the fair!
Adult Entry Fees – $4.00 pre-registration, $5.00 day of contest
Youth Entry Fees – $2.00 pre-registration, $3.00 day of contest
AMATEURS ONLY! No mixes or sauces allowed.
Recipes must be typed on an 8.5 x 11″ sheet of white paper and must accompany each entry. Contestant’s name, address and phone number must be printed on the back side of recipe. ALL RECIPES BECOME PROPERTY OF THE NORTH TEXAS FAIR & RODEO.
Bring completed entry form, which can be found below, to contest check in. Blank forms will be available at the door. All rules, guidelines and classes are included on each entry form.
If you enter online, you will receive a one-day pass to the fair for each day you enter. For youth entries, you will receive one child’s ticket and one adult pass. These passes may be picked up from Mary Bridges on Wednesday, August 16 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Creative Arts Department.
Check-in will take place in DATCU Fair Hall, and judging will immediately follow.
