CREATIVE ARTS CONTEST
The Creative Arts Contest presents an annual exhibition of unique and handmade items, artwork, food and more. All entries are displayed in the Point Bank Commercial Exhibit Building the entire duration of the fair for the Denton and north Texas communities to enjoy!
Contestants are grouped into divisions by age, and all entered items are judged against those within their own division. Standard age divisions and their entry fees are as follows. (Please note: Age divisions and their entry fees may vary within divisions. Please check rules for specifics of each department.) All entry fees are per item.
Junior and Intermediate Entries (17 & Under): $3.00 per item online, $4.00 per item at in-person registration
Adult Entries: $4.00 per item online, $5.00 per item at in-person registration
Online Entry Deadline: August 16, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Entries Open May 15, 2026)
In-Person Entries AND Drop Off: August 19, 2026 from 1:00 to 5:30 p.m. ONLY
All items must be picked up on August 31, 2026 between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. Any item left after 7:00 p.m. will not be the responsibility of NTFR.
GENERAL CONTEST RULES
Amateurs only! Absolutely no professionals. Items will be disqualified if entered.
All items must have been made in the last year. Any item that has previously won a ribbon in the NTFR Creative Arts contest may not be re-entered.
All entries must be appropriate for family viewing.
All handmade entries must be made by the participant only.
Entered items that contain edible components are prohibited unless competing in Homed Canned Foods – Division C.
**Photography entries must be entered in the Photography Contest. There are no longer photography categories in the Creative Arts contest.**
Only one entry per class per exhibitor. ABSOLUTELY NO EARLY OR LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED! Judging will take place after entries have been received and accepted.
It is distinctly understood that in no case shall the North Texas Fair & Rodeo, its directors, officers or employees be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury of any character to any person, animal, vehicle, artwork, exhibit or article while participating in the Creative Arts contest at the North Texas Fair & Rodeo.
