August 24 – 26, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. nightly in the First State Bank Livestock Pavilion
Top 32 will be RANDOMLY drawn to ride again August 27 – 30, 2026 in the Coors Rodeo Arena during the nightly rodeo performances.
A right of passage for Texas youth, mutton bustin’ will be the highlight of your kids’ summer! This event is open to children ages 3 – 7 years old as of September 1. NO RIGGINS OR ROPES ALLOWED.
$40 ENTRY FEE per night | Entries to Open June 1, 2026
No changes may be made once entries have been submitted. NO LATE ENTRIES! Entry fees are non-refundable. Only 80 entries accepted for August 24 – 26. Register early! If a night fills up, you may be moved to another night, if necessary.
Registration can be completed at the link below. REGISTRATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN THE CHILD’S NAME! No names will be changed once entry is submitted.
All entries must be submitted ONLINE. No mail, email, fax, telephone or walk up entries will be accepted.
Your online receipt/confirmation and release form (found on the Mutton Bustin’ web page) should be brought to contest and presented upon check in!
CONTEST INFORMATION
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (August 24 – 26) will be held in the First State Bank Livestock Pavilion at 6:30 p.m. Check in will be between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. in the Livestock Office.
If entered on August 24, contestants will have a chance to draw for 10 spots to ride again during the Invitational Ranch Rodeo later that evening.
Finals will be held in the Coors Rodeo Arena during the rodeo performances August 27 – 30 beginning at 7:30 p.m. (No entry fees required)
Top 32 from August 24 – 26 (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday combined) will be randomly drawn to come back August 27 – 30 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Top awards will be given nightly after the mutton bustin’ event August 27 – 30 in the First State Bank Livestock Arena.
NO SUBSTITUTIONS ON ANY NIGHT! NO RIGGINS OR ROPES WILL BE ALLOWED!
FAIRGROUNDS ENTRANCE:
Contestant names for each night will be on a list at all gates. Two (2) adults and the contestant may enter at no charge for that night. Parking is NOT INCLUDED.
