Jackpot Showmanship: Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.

Goat Show: Thursday, August 24, 2023 immediately following showmanship

Release: Following completion of breed, if not in champion drive or showmanship contest

Trailer parking ONSITE, pending on weather. Overflow trailer parking offsite.

No showing off trailer. Livestock must be stalled in barn.

HEALTH CERTIFICATES NOT REQUIRED for TEXAS LIVESTOCK ONLY. State validation not required.

SPECIAL RULES

  1. ENTRY FEES: $45 per head. Includes Rings A & B.
    • Online entry link available on Junior Goats page via ntfair.com. Online entry deadline – August 16, 2023.
    • Mail-in entries accepted through August 10, 2023. Preferred method of entry is online!
  2. Late entries will also be accepted upon arrival ($10 late fee per head). Exhibitors must be registered and weighed in by 10:00 a.m. on show day.
  3. Exhibitors must check in at livestock office. Exhibitor packets are received at this time.
  4. Weight cards, passes and parking stickers will be enclosed in packets. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have their weight card(s) turned into the livestock office on time (10:00 a.m.). Failure to do so will result in disqualification, and entry fees will not be reimbursed.
  5. Digital scales will be set up for your use before weight cards are due.
  6. No outside bedding allowed. Shavings and pellets will be available for purchase on grounds.
  7. There will not be a minimum or maximum weight limit.
  8. There is no limit on the number of head an exhibitor may enter.
  9. Not a terminal show.
  10. Show Order:
    • Classes 1-3, Div. Champ & Reserve
    • Classes 4-6, Div. Champ & Reserve
    • Classes 7-9, Div. Champ & Reserve
    • Grand & Reserve Grand Champion Selection
  11. Ring A – Ribbon Show. Ring B – Award Show.
  12. Overall Grand Champion in Ring B will receive $500. Overall Reserve Grand Champion of Ring B will receive $250.
  13. Classes will be broken as numbers permit once all goats are weighed (10:00 a.m. deadline). The superintendent and show officials will break classes into as equal numbers and weight breaks as possible.
  14. 1st and 2nd place goats, and other random goats, will be subject to be weighed back. Any goat that weighs 5 lbs. below or above their weigh-in weight will be disqualified from show and awards.
